This ride features some of the best climbs on some of NC's best cycling roads. Parking at the Valle Crucis Elementary School should be a problem. Not long after the start is a great climb up Schull's Mill Road to the Blue Ridge Parkway near Blowing Rock. The second big climb is Snake Mountain on Meat Camp Road, which could probably be considered the featured climb of the route. The third climb is on George's Gap Road, near the end of the ride. Of course, there are plenty of "rollers" between the climbs, just to keep things interesting.
