There's great murals all over San Francisco, not just in the Mission. Perhaps the most famous is Diego Rivera's "Pan American Unity", but I think it's in a museum. I visited the outdoor murals.

I suppose it's advertising, but I liked this stark, simple piece. If it provokes thought, it must be art, even if you find that there's nothing to think.
"The Power of Java" arrow left me wondering to what it was pointing—some headquarters building? No, apparently it's supposed to be pointing to the cell phone in the lady's right hand.
This one may be actually advertising some kind of video game, but it's still fun…
